Blog Archive Mission Admission Should You Submit in Round 1 or Round 2

Blog Archive Mission Admission Should You Submit in Round 1 or Round 2 Mission Admission is a series of MBA admission tips; a new one is posted each Tuesday. At some point, every candidate takes a moment to think about  when  to submit his/her application(s). Inevitably, we find that two common concerns tend to crop up: 1) “If I apply in Round 1, will my application get lost among those of the ‘uber-type-As’?” 2) “If I apply in Round 2, will I just be too late?” In the past, MBA admissions officers have gone to great lengths to  calm applicants jitters, telling  them that Rounds 1 and  2 are virtually the same. More recently, however, many admissions officers have shifted their tone and have started to tell candidates that all things being equal, a candidate would have a slight edge in the first round. For our part, we have a simple maxim at mbaMission: Quality before speed. By this we mean that you should submit your application when you feel it is as its best, whichever round that happens to be. Still, we do encourage candidates to do whatever they can to get those applications in early: 1) If you are part of a vastly overrepresented group (Indian engineers, for example), submitting your application before your constituency is well represented in the class can be a wise move. 2) If you are a truly unique candidate with a very low GMAT score, you might consider a Round 1 submission, because fewer places are available for such candidates later on. If several low-GMAT candidates are accepted in the first round, your school of choice may be constrained by its need to drive its GMAT average higher and may not be mathematically able to send out another offer to a candidate with a very low score. 3) If the school blatantly confers an advantage on candidates who apply early decision and you are certain that you want to attend this school, then applying early is probably worth the effort. In short, do not fret if you cannot submit in Round 1, because the majority of the spots are still awarded in Round 2. Rest assured, the schools will always find room for a strong  applicant. Why Millennials Not Getting Married - Free Essay Example

Sample details Pages: 2 Words: 706 Downloads: 8 Date added: 2019/08/02 Category Sociology Essay Level High school Tags: Millennials Essay Did you like this example? Â  Millennials are not getting married as much as people did in previous generations because of many reasons. The reasons are, that some Millennials are not financially stable, some are not ready to start a family yet, some are just not ready to give a commitment, and some think that they are too young. According to time.com, about 20% of Americans older than 25 had always been single in 2012. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Why Millennials Not Getting Married?" essay for you Create order Each decade, the percentage of people of marriageable age who are single has grown (Luscombe 2014). The two reasons why people give for their singlehood are that they have not found the right person and arent financially stable enough. Firstly, millennials are not getting married as much as people did in previous generations because they have not found the right person. Millennials prefer someone who has a secure job, who they may be compatible with, and who have similar thoughts and opinions. People in previous generations would get married because they did not have many preferences of what they wanted in a person, and the world was not as well developed as it is right now. People in previous generations did not have a high standard of thinking than that of Millennials have in this generation. Seeing how well-developed the world is right now, most millennials will not rush into something like marriage because they are most probably aware that a marriage needs dedication and some scarification. Millennials who are rushing into marriage without being one-hundred percent sure, end up getting a divorce, losing interest in the other person, and/or getting side-tracked. Young adulthood is a time when people are vested in themselves. They want to figure themselves out before going into a marriage. They do not want to invest their time into someone else before creating a fulfilling life for themselves and then stepping into something big like marriage. According to huffingtonpost.com, Alison Sher says, when we try to commit, we often get burned. We end up sacrificing our path and purpose to take care of someone else, who hasnt figured out how to do it on their own. We form chemical attachments with people before we know the type of person wed truly be compatible with. We get hooked to what we think the future is going to look like and try to control someone else so that our dreams work out (Sher 2017). Basically, theyre afraid to commit. People nowadays escape from the word commitment. They do not want to give someone their one-hundred percent until they have figured out themselves. Lastly, some Millennials are not yet financially stable enough. According to forbes.com, from aGallop poll in August, 28% of 18 34-year-olds are currently married, while 56% are unmarried but aspire to the institution.Among Millennials, those of 51% who were earning more than $75,000 a year were actually the most likely to be married by a wide margin. Compared to 19% for the lowest earning Millennials earning less than $30,000, and 21% for those pulling in mid-range salaries between $30,000 $75,000 (Henderson 2014). Looking at these statistics, it was clear that, Millennials who more financially stable than the ones who were not, were the ones likely to get married. So, a financial state does matter a lot when it comes to marriage because without being financially stable, you cannot start your own family, and nor will the family increase. The two reasons why Millennials are not getting married as much as people did in previous generations is because they have not found the right person and they are not financially stable. In this generation (21st century), people are so busy with their lives, busy with accomplishing so many goals, that the thought of getting married does not occur to them. They want to become successful, get a good education so that they can earn good, and become financially stable to where they can then think about marriage and starting a family. According to forbes.com, instead of viewing marriage as a stepping stone to greater economic stability, it seems as if Millennials see economic stability as a prerequisite for marriage (Henderson 2014). If Millennials think more than just economic stability as a prerequisite for marriage, then they may want to change their minds about waiting until their late 30s or 40s to get married.

Improving Customer Complaints, Feedback And Questions

You also need to create a solid structure and procedure for solving customer complaints, feedback and questions. Structure is important because it generates more coherence and confidence within the department, which in turn will help result in better customer service. If your employees are fully aware of the procedure then they don’t need to worry about what to do next. Coherence is essential because today’s customers aren’t going to enjoy having to wait a reply. Many expect a customer service query to be resolved within 24 hours. Why wouldn’t you? Your customer’s life might be unexpectedly disrupted by a malfunction in your product, for instance, and you don’t want to let their disruption last for any longer than necessary. A proper game plan for answering to customer queries will help the employee solve the issue much quicker. They can act in a more professional manner because the training has already covered the particular problem and they are confident on knowing how to solve it. Your customer service department should also have a clear system in place for the problems that require special attention. Your employees need to be able to move the problem onwards, perhaps to a high-positioned manager, swiftly in case they are unable to solve the problem. This will cut the waiting times for the customers and it can prevent the problem from escalating. But remember that a structure should not mean your customer service should become automated. Christianity, Judaism, Islam Summary free essay sample

Christianity is centered around an extraordinary amount of fundamental beliefs. These beliefs are all found in the bible; there is only one God (Isaiah 43:10, John 17:3), God is omniscient (Acts 15:18, John 3:20), God is holy (Peter 1:15), God is love, true, spirit (John 4:8, Romans 3:4, John 4:24). Since the Bible makes it abundantly clear that there is only one true God and the multitude of gods created by man are idols, then there is  only  one  acceptable doctrine of God. The deity of Christianity has  always  been identified as three persons in one divine Godhead, as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The three great Christian creeds explain this. There are many misconceptions on what happens when you die, some say that good people go to heaven and bad people go to hell (what makes you good or bad? ), others believe that immediately after death you go into a state called â€Å"soul sleep†. Based on what the bible says, Christians do not believe in an after-life. They believe that once you die, your soul goes to heaven, and then, if youve accepted Jesus into your heart, you will live on forever in heaven. But if youve denied Christ, you will not be welcomed into his kingdom and will stay in hell for eternity. They believe that Gods kingdom is pure wonder. It has streets made of gold, you will never go hungry, there is no sickness, and all you know of is joy. So rather good people going to heaven and bad going to hell, your final destination is based on whether you accept or deny Christ. The bible is the only book of worship for Christians. Most Christians meet in churches, but recently a new fad has taken over, church in a movie theater. The local leaders of the churches are the priests. Priests conduct masses, confirmations, baptisms, etc. Priests are not the only leaders in the church; there is a whole Christian leadership hierarchy. First is the Pope, then the Cardinals, Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and lastly the Laity. Christians believe that the holy city is Jerusalem because Jesus Christ held the Last Supper, was tried before Pilate, was crucified, and rose victorious from the dead in Jerusalem and its nearby hillsides. There is a large debate on whether Jesus or Paul created the religion of Christianity. Many philosophers have come to the conclusion that Jesus was merely a preacher, telling the Jews that he was the last prophet. Never once in the bible does it state that Jesus had any intentions on creating a religion. Next to Jesus, Paul was the person most responsible for the spread of Christianity. More than any human being, it was Paul who turned a religion full of Jews into a religion made up mostly of non-Jews. He took the story of Jesus on the road for approximately 10,000 miles and wrote over one-fourth of the New Testament. Judaism Some people define the Jewish religion as not having a belief in Jesus as Messiah. However, this is a common misconception. Judaism was around thousands of years before Jesus was born. The Jewish belief is to love HaShem (God) with all your heart, soul and resources (Deut. :4-9). This takes the form of the 613 commandments, all of them listed in the first five books of the Bible, written by Moses, which is called the Torah. Jews show their love and faith to HaShem by obeying him. The deity of Judaism is the one and eternal creator of the universe. There are many titles for God, all of them trying to describe some attribute or attributes, but no real name. The te rm YHVH is a complex construction of the verb to be intended to try to express the eternal and infinite nature of God. It is only pronounced by the High Priest, after very specific rituals. There is very little consensus among Jews on what happens after death. This is mainly because there is very little on the subject in the Torah. Some Jews depict life after death as a return to the dust from which man was created. In Ecclesiastes 3:20 it states that â€Å"All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again†. The book that contains Jewish prayers and prayer services is called the Siddur. The Siddur is primarily used when worshiping in the synagogue. Rabbis are the ones usually conducing readings and rituals in the synagogue. However, Jews do not worship this book, they merely use it for prayer. The Torah is the book of god. It consists of precepts of the religion and many other things. To be clear, Jews to not worship any book, they explicitly refrain for the worship of physical items. Jerusalem is the center of Judaism. It is important to Jews because it was the site of the Akeidah (Binding of Isaac, in Genesis 22) and was later the seat of the Davidic Kings when King David, Israels greatest king, founded the dynasty that ruled Judah for much of its history. Most importantly, it was the location of the First and Second Temples, where offerings were made to God. There is much controversy over who was the founder of Judaism. Although, a majority of Jews believe that Judaism began with the covenant God made with Abraham, which is talked about in the book of Genesis in the Bible, starting in chapter 17. The different branches of Judaism were founded later by different people, but the religion itself was started with the covenant between God and Abraham. Islam Islam religion is based off of the five pillars; there is one God, The prophet of this God is Muhammed, Prayer (five times daily), almsgiving, and lastly pilgrimage to Mecca. The deity of Islam is known as  Allah  in Arabic, but is not the same as the God of Judaism and Christianity. According to the faith and deeds performed by that person, a different place is fixed for the soul to remain. It stays in that place until the Day of Resurrection. The Islam book of worship is Quran. God revelation of the first verse of Quran to prophet Mohamed, through the Angel Gabriel, was in year 610 AD (when prophet Mohamed was 40 years old). The Quran revelations continued until year 632 (when Prophet Mohamed died). Ilams are the ones that normally conduct prayer services at the mosques. They usually conduct these services on Friday prayer days. The first holy city of Islam is Mecca, the second is Medina, the third is Jerusalem. Mecca is most important because it is where the religion of Islam was originated, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Muslims pray five time a day facing Mecca. Islam is not something to be founded or established. Islam is a revelation to people and mankind through prophets and messengers from Allah, the almighty who created this universe and created mankind.
